Lamongan - December 4, 2024, students and lecturers from the Industrial Engineering Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (Umla) have just visited the Job Training Center (BLK) under the Lamongan Manpower Office (Disnaker). This visit is part of a mission to strengthen the bridge between academia and industry, as well as to explore the latest trends in the world of work, especially in the manufacturing sector.

Warmly welcomed by the BLK team, Secretary of the Lamongan Manpower Office, Yayuk Sri Herwati, explained the various training programs offered to improve people's skills, especially in engineering and manufacturing. "BLK is a place where people can get skills that are in accordance with industry needs," said Yayuk. "We hope that students will take advantage of this visit to broaden their horizons."

The event also provided an overview of internship opportunities, certification, and cooperation between BLK and the industrial world. The Head of BLK, Luluk Ida Papilu, emphasized the importance of synergy between education and training.

"This collaboration ensures that students are not only theoretical, but also practical," she said enthusiastically.

The accompanying lecturer from Umla, Rohmat, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given. "We come with empty glasses, ready to be filled with knowledge and experience from BLK and Disnaker," he said humorously.

The visit was concluded with a tour of the BLK training facility, guided by Suyaslik, a young expert instructor, who introduced students to the welding equipment and processes in the workshop. Hopefully, this experience will provide Umla Industrial Engineering students with additional insight to face the dynamic and competitive world of work.

This visit is part of Umla's commitment to bridge the gap between academia and industry, in line with the university's mission to build trust and cooperation for better quality education.
