Lamongan, 12/24/2024 – The Industrial Engineering Study Program of the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) has once again confirmed its commitment to providing the latest insights to its students. This time, the Industrial Engineering Study Program, along with other engineering study programs at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Education UMLA, held the Industrial Technology Seminar Batch 2 in 2024 with the theme "The Role of Digital Technology to Increase Competitiveness in the Industrial and Health Sectors".

The Industrial Engineering Study Program presented a special speaker, namely Mr. Jacob Win ACC, S.T., S.Kom., M.Kom, who is the Commissioner of PT Wahana Integra Nusantara, PT Integra Inovasi Semesta, and PT Adikarya Pesona Intinusa. He is also a professional mentor and trainer in various programs, including the ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network and Swiss Indonesia Accelerator. The main point of the material he delivered was about the growth of Indonesia's digital economy. "The Millennial Generation and Gen Z are the main drivers of digital economic growth," he said. He also explained some of the main technology trends today.

“Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used for operational efficiency and data analysis across sectors. The Internet of Things (IoT) supports logistics, industrial operations, and remote health monitoring. Blockchain is used for payments, academic certification, and medical data privacy. AR/VR applications are used for learning simulations, including surgical simulations and industrial training,” he explained.
